As we all know Hollywood is all too quick to make a sequel from any and every movie that does remotely well (or not). The kind of movies that leave you feeling embarassed for the star (who might have had a bit part in the first one), and restating the old addage "Recycle your used bottles, not used plots".
Sometimes though after watching a movie there is so much left unsaid (that would be worth digging into), or some of the sub-plots/characters beg to be developed so much, that you are left thinking "Man they should really make a sequel from this one". Thats what this thread is for (hopefully), a place to "Pitch" your idea for that sequel that is just begging to be made (cause I think we probably all have at least one). And who knows, you might even catch the eye of someone who can see these ideas to good use...wink wink
sorry if this is alrady around but I didnt see one, and there certainly arent any that are current

So to start us off I will post the top one on my list:
Proof of Life II
or whatever title fits since its not really a "direct" sequel
This would be an offshoot of Proof of Life (POL) following the stories of Dino (David Caruso) and Terry (Russell Crowe). The idea came from just a couple of lines of dialog at the end of POL; after they return from rescuing Peter Bowman, Dino turns to Terry and says something along the lines of "Lets start our own group where we forcibly rescue people". As soon as they said that line in the movie I was all over it.
Who: Follows the stories of Dino, Terry and their crew of ex-military specialists.
What (plot): Led by Dino and Terry a small group (8-10) of ex-military/mercenaries specialize in rescuing hostages through military style extractions (as in the end of POL) rather than negotiations. For the past several years they have had their hands full in the Middle East rescuing various Civilian Contractors, Diplomats, Politicians, etc. We find them settled in to life and fighting in the Middle East, and the film could open up with an almost perfect extraction from a group of insurgents, showing just how proficient they have become. As the movie progresses you follow one hostage case which quickly develops into more than they are expecting/have experienced. Here is where you could insert one of many possible "twists" to make this particular extraction different, and thusly worth making a movie from: Dino or Terry are captured (not that original though), A high ranking government official is kidnapped (neither is this one), or the kidnappers aren't your "typical terrorists". Showcasing some great fight scenes (reminiscent of Tears of the Sun, Predator, or other "elite" fighting groups) there are almost limitless possibilities.
When: Well given the middle east setting, probably Today.
Where: Thinking Iraq and Afghanistan are probably over saturating our TV's the way it is, one of the lesser known "'stans" would probably be a good choice. Although mentioning that they have been busy in Afghanistan and Iraq over the past years might add some validity.
Why (why make a sequel?): The extraction scenes in the second half of POL were some of my favorite of the entire film, and indeed of any film. The whole movie is great; however the chemistry between Caruso and Crowe was perfect for those scenes. Crowe silently and professionally doing his job, whilst Caruso bounds in all fiery and even giddy, perfectly offset each other. I think they could really do well together in the same type of situation without becoming repetitive; especially since only a fraction of POL is made up of those scenes. And setting it in an environment most people are becoming familiar with, and basing it in events that are currently going on, could add a great bit of believability.
Sorry I know that was long, but I think (if done right) it could make quite an awesome film.

Anyone remember the 1982 movie Firefox with Clint Eastwood playing ex-Air Force fighter pilot Mitchell Gant, who sneaks into the Soviet Union (remember them?) and hijacks a new Soviet warplane? They should make a sequel to that. How about this (Ye Be Warned, SPOLIERS to the first movie): The debris from the second Firefox damages Gant's plane, and he has to make an emergency crash landing on a frozen lake in Finland. They could call it "Firefox Down".

Well, I haven't taken the time to actually work out a servicable plot for my suggestions, but i've always wanted to see a sequel to...
Sneakers I love the original, one of the smartest and funniest capers ever made, and I would love to see Bishop, Mother, Whistler and the rest (minus River Phoenix of course ) return for another caper.
Christine I think more could be done here as well, it could feature a now grown Dennis, played by returning actor/filmmaker John Stockwell, still guilty over the death of Arnie and fearing Christine's return, has his worst fears realized when she appears once again. Or they could go another way entirely.
The Last Boyscout How there was never a sequel i'll never know, given Hollywood's love of these types of sequels i.e. Lethal Weapon and Die Hard.
That's it, really.

I wanted to be the first one to kill somebody on the moon."

It's too late now, but I always thought it would be fun to see a sequel to MY COUSIN VINNY. I also would have liked an update to NIGHTSHIFT (1982).

UHF II- Al's station becomes a Fox affiliate and loses all its original programming, then Kevin McCarthy comes back and buys the station when the FCC relaxes its ownership rules.

Blade Runner 2 - A good while after the events in the first one, a detective must investigate the claims that former blade runner Rick Deckard was in fact a replicant. It's a mystery that gets stranger and more ominious as the detective gets deeper and deeper in the case. Can he solve the mystery? Was Deckard truly a replicant? Can he locate the missing Deckard? In his quest to answer these questions, the detective will stumble across a conspiracy so vast, it could change the world forever.

The Graduate Part II - now, she's older and in a nursing home; suffering from Alzheimers as..
(Ok, I figure someone will get the reference)
Short Circuit III - The robot, who now has decisions to make on his own as a US Citizen, enlists in the military to fight in foreign soil, only to discover his humanity as he escalates the ranks as an officer in charge of men. A touching portrayal of a robot caring for human in combat.
Explorers II - last time, it was alien children who called up the children of earth for a light-hearted bit of TV watching and talk before their father arrived. The children return, older, in command of their own ship to talk to their human counterparts again, and warn them of a plan to destroy the earth.
Matrix Part II: We discover that through a clever bit of programming, the AI has trapped many of the main characters into a second level of illusion; making most of the events of Matrix Reloaded & Revolution only an illusion; as more people slowly reject the matrix, and effort comes to clean the atmosphere of earth and luring the AI to accept movement to another planet.
2061.. it's a natural sequel, since there is a book.
As many Bourne movies as they want to crank out.
Casino: I think there could be a natural sequel to this one.
