There were follow-up stories saying that nobody had released rattlesnakes in a theater. One got into the theater on its own; and there was another in the parking lot.

The theater was in AZ, after all -- rattlesnake territory!

I just rented this...and I can tell you why it tanked: IT SUCKED!!!! I was pretty much rooting for EVERYONE to die! There were plot holes the size of the Grand Canyon! The acting was horrendous! If it had been less "cheesy-for-the-sake-of-being-cheesy" and TRIED to take itself a little seriously, it might have turned out cheesy in a good "Irwin-Allen-70's-disaster-blockbuster" way. Oh, and the only thing worse than CGI snakes are OBVIOUS CGI snakes....no suspense whatsoever.
