OH. MY. GOD. I just got back from one of the most visceral, and enjoyable times I've had at the movies. My friends have all heard me talking about Snakes on a Plane, they KNOW how much I've hyped myself up for this movie. Snakes on a Plane has not only lived up to, but it EXCEEDED all my expectations. This movie is AWESOME. Some of this may sound sarcastic, but believe me, IT'S NOT. This, along with Little Miss Sunshine, is the best movie I have seen yet this year. I am dead serious.

This movie has it all. Action, Drama, Comedy, Gratuitous Gore and Nudity, and most importantly, SNAKES ON A PLANE. It is a comedy (a GREAT one, at that), thinly guised as a thriller/horror film. It takes every cliche in the book, throws it in a huge metal tube, mixes it up with hundreds of poisonous snakes, and delivers a bittersweet cocktail of campy B-rated corniness and hilarity. Like the kid who eats worms just to get attention, with Snakes on a Plane, it doesn't want you to laugh WITH the movie, it wants you to laugh AT the movie.

This film just has so many levels. You feel for the various characters who get bitten. Some you go "YEAAAAH!", some you feel sad for, and just before they get bitten you think "no, not him!" It goes from heartwarming to gutwrenching to belly laughing in a matter of SCENES.

I think this is one of the ONLY movies I would pay to watch again, as its one you HAVE to watch with an audience. I'm still gonna buy the DVD, but I imagine it won't even be FRACTION as enjoyable as in a theater.

Like the title of the movie, I think even the tagline is PERFECTLY suited for this movie. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the Fright.

I hope everyone sees it tomorrow night or saw it tonight, because that's the only screening something this bad is going to work at. Seriously. I saw it in a theater crampacked with film geeks and WE MADE IT WORTH WATCHING. The audience filled in the blanks, and there were many of them. I don't advise watching it at a 1 dollar theater, or on video, or on cable, or at all unless you know you can watch it in a room or a theater filled with movie-loving smartasses not afraid to MST3K the hell out of whatever is being yarked up onscreen.

Because this movie, if removed from all that, is utter crap. It's a terrible film.

Of course, it had to be. It's called Snakes on a Plane, for the love of God.

Horrible move yet most fun at theater in a long while. My favorite taunt of the movie was that after every Sam Jackson morale boosting monologue, people would yell out "Oscar! Oscar!"

Horrible film all around. A real hack job and one of the most pathetic "Z" films since the 1950's. However, it was never boring so I'd say this thing will live in infamy along with PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE and MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE.

I took my girlfriend to see this and we both hated it but agreed it was never boring. This is the type of film to watch with beer and a group of friends.

I can't believe this thing is sitting at almost 70% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. I figured it would be about 10-12% tops.

I really enjoyed it to but totally disagree with your conclusion. Every cliche ... campy, corniness ... all adds up to laughing WITH the film.

Lot of fun.

Saw it tonight with a fun crowd and was not disappointed.

I agree that you are supposed to laugh with the film. I believe the film has tongue firmly in-cheek with some of the dialogue and scenes, but never becomes an outright mockery.

I saw it earlier tonight at the final 10:30pm showing and was surprised at the total lack of audience interaction. Every report and review I've read mentions how rowdy the crowd is and at my showing it was dead silence throughout most of the movie. This could be because I didn't see any 'fans' and noticed mainly couples with a few families as well. No one brought snakes in or yelled at the movie screen. Interestingly, the average age was probably in the 40s (rare for a 10:30 screening?) and I don't recall a single teenager or college student which is what I imagined this target audience to be. There were several group laughs during the death scenes and one liners. I may see this again tonight (Saturday) at a different theater to see if the experience is any different as from what I've read we had the most 'mannered' bunch, which as someone pointed out, makes this movie a lot less fun. I'd really love at least one 'movie party' type atmosphere this year and so far it hasn't happened.

Audience, audience, audience.

Best theatrical experience in ages. As we walked in, we were dissapointed to see the room was nowhere close to being full. Yet when the movie started, you would never know it. The crowd we had was excellent. Mostly college kids. When everyne started clapping as the title showed up, I knew we were in a for a treat.

The film itself is atrocious. Really, despite the exceedingly dumb premise, I never expected the very first lines of dialogue and character interaction to betray the abysmal quality of this whole affair from the get go. It really is that bad.

Yet the audience made it worth it. Best time at the theater this year, seriously.

Glad to have been part of the Snake craze.

For those looking for a fun, simple movie, I would recommend it.

My favorite supporting characters were the flight attendant who had the chance at early retirement and Kenan Thompson, the substitute pilot.
