I like Weiz for Talia, and agree, it would make a great angle to set up Raz for a return in a 3rd movie.
I think Angela Bettis from "May" would make a good Harley. She can really pull of the crazy vibe and be threatening, while maintaining a girly inocence.

| Ugh! I hope that rumor is false. Rachael Weisz was in that b-movie Constantine. |
She was also in that AAA movie "The Constant Gardener" and will hopefully earn a Supporting Actress nod for it. Weisz is a great actress who also doesn't seem opposed to doing genre work and I'd love to see her in a Batman sequel (agree on her being an excellent choice for Talia).

I can't see Nolan using Harley Quinn for his vision of Batman(unless WB is forcing him to use her). But Weisz would make an excellent Talia.

I want someone a little more exotic than Weisz for Talia.

I've always envisioned Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role.

I know what you mean, Patrick. I would have felt the same way if not for what happened with Liam Neeson in Batman Begins. Because of that, this casting makes a lot of sense since she could pass for his daughter more believably than someone more exotic-looking.

Liev Schreiber is said to be a top contender for the role of Harvey Dent. What I love is that Nolan is looking to cast great actors in key roles instead of the "who's hot right now" approach that WB employed in the past with the previous 'Batman' flicks.
Nolan's trilogy will give WB a great jumping off point for future directors to follow with the franchise. What Nolan is doing is laying a great foundation for the franchise, something that (in my opinion) didn't really happen with the previous four films.
WB's grand plan is to have a major superhero franchise flick every year. Last year had "Batman Begins", this year will have "Superman Returns", next year is supposed to see the launch of "Wonder Woman", sequels to 'Begins' and 'Returns' will hit theaters in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
"Quite an experience to live in fear isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave."

would love to see Talia, but Harley seems to me a character that is made for animation and the special way that people interface with animation. i saw that they were putting out a monthly comic with the character headlining it, and the style was more realistically rendered and it just looked...wrongheaded (on the other hand, i loved the Timm mini series of Harley & Ivy)
i like the character too, but i like it in the context of the animated show, where stories are concise and her 'schtick' meshes well with the conventions and liberties of animated storytelling.
to make her live action, you would either have to radically change her or the tone of the entire film for her to fit and either path seems distasteful to me.
i wonder if Warner will purposefully 'leak' the script just to see what kind of feedback they get.
i don't know if they did that the last time, but the early word was so positive it surely couldn't have hurt.

They surely will not leak a script intentionally... but they might float broad concepts.
What they ought to do is simply trust in the Nolan.

I think Nolan has earned that from the studio. And I think they know that.
I agree with Paul about Harley. I love the character, but she really fits TAS, not the film.
Weisz can be ridiculously hot when required. She's also having a kid with previous possible Bat-director Darren Aronofsky. But I don't think Talia is right for the second film.
Liev Shreiber would be an excellent choice for Two-Face.

Not one that's terribly up with the characters in Batman, so please forgive me for asking but, who is Talia?
