Re: Batman Begins' sequel: The Dark Knight (Merged)
This will be one of the most HATED movies by internet elitists. Mark my words.
The reviews so far are too good. All the reviews have compared it to movies like The Godfather.
I guarantee that there will be a HUGE backlash after the film releases. Internet elitists won't shut up about how it's the most overrated movie of all time.
Also, Heath Ledger's performance will definitely be polarizing. Many will feel that his acting is way over the top, while others will claim that it's oscar worthy.

Well, from the places that one would expect internet elitism (namely CHUD), the response so far has been one of "it's a great movie - maybe not the second coming, but it would've been even better if they had cut about 15 minutes."
"Here's looking at you, kid."

Who really gives a s**t what "internet elitists" think anyway? They're far from elite and most of them need a good smack upside the head in an attempt to knock some sense into their narrow little minds.

There's always going to be people who hate the movie just because it is popular. However, I think there's also going to be people whose expectations are SO incredibly high that they won't be able to help but be dissapointed by the fact that it's just a movie and not a religious experience.
That being said, I'm really only talking about people on the extreme ends on the spectrum.

In other words, its reputation will be just like TITANIC.

If Celine Dion sings "My Smile Will Go On" on the radio 1000 times, then yeah, maybe. That would be pretty funny actually.
