Breakfast Club sequel?
From Dark Horizons...
Emilio Estevez has signed on to appear in a sequel to cult John Hughes Brat Pack movie "The Breakfast Club", despite missing out on joining his castmates for a MTV Movie Awards reunion last month due to a family emergency reports Contact Music.
Estevez urges fans of the film not to take his no-show as a sign he's not interested in a planned sequel. He adds, "John's got an idea for a sequel - mature aged students at college, all doing time again - for some reason or another.
"The twist would be that we're all the polar opposites of how we were in the original. Judd Nelson for instance, would now be the straight-laced one. I'm definitely in. If it happens, I'm there."

sounds corny and contrived. I'll be looking out for this one with my dread glasses on.

Why not have them meet up again at their 25 year high school reunion? I like the concept of them changing stereotypes, obviously Anthony Michael Hall is no tiny nerd anymore, but I'd like leave Judd Nelson the way he is, perhaps just freed out of jail. Make Ally Sheedy's character hot now, like how she looked at the MTV show, yowza!

What I like about this idea as apposed to the potential 16 Candles Sequel is that John Hughes may write it.

They all just happen to be going to college together at 40?

A high school reunion sounds a bit more plausible.

A bit?
Strange how just the premise can take it from something one looks forward to seeing, to something you're reluctant about. High School reunion? College?

A death bringing them all toghether for a funeral would make more sense than them all going to college at the same time, the same college and a contrived reason why they would be stuck together. The death wouldn't even have to be a character from the first film, it could be a teacher or something they all shared that just wasn't mentioned the first time around.
"If you write a story about a soldier going AWOL and kidnapping a pregnant woman and finally shooting her in the head, it's called searingly realistic, even though it's never happened in the history of mankind. Whereas if you write about two people falling in love, which happens about a million times a day all over the world, for some reason or another, you're accused of writing something unrealistic and sentimental."
-Richard Curtis, Screenwriter and Director

Principal Vernon?
The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

Anything that contains the original cast, and is written and directed by Hughes, I'm very interested in.
If they replace writers or swap the director, my interest drops dramatically to Less Than Zero (oops, another movie)
