Wouldn't surprise me a bit. The double dip has really
become a big part of studio strategy, Jaws is getting
a new release (a 30th anniversary after the 25th
anniversary release in 2000), and Universal distributes
both films.
If Universal decides to create an anniversary release of
The Blues Brothers, it would be nice to have both cuts of
the film in one package, a commentary track with Landis
and Aykroyd, and include the documentary from the original
release- it's a really good one.
