Miss Congeniality 2 - quick review

I thought it was a decent screwball comedy that evoked a lot of laughter from the afternoon crowd I was with at the theater today. I laughed alot, and Sandra Bulloch definitely doesn't take herself too seriously, which added to the laughs and likeability.

Not the greatest film ever, but for a couple of hours, it's fluffy entertainment.

I give it 2.5 stars or a grade of C+.

Worst film I have ever seen. Period. And that's saying alot considering the crap I've seen in my years. After I left the theater I began to think of the films that I consider the worst of the worst. Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, etc...and I could think of at least one good thing about those films. Even if that one thing was so minute that if I blinked I would miss it. Half way through Miss Congeniality 2 (Armed and Unwelcome) I found myself thinking of Battlefield: Earth...no lie! I kept thinking John Travolta in dreadlocks would really make this movie get a laugh out of me...where is he?!

Now I thought the first film was good on it's own rights, Sandra Bullock is always great. And the scene when she first appears in the pageant dress...very nice. But this film just reeks of greed. A year or so back I remember reading a quote from Bullock about how she wouldn't do Miss Congeniality 2 because she knew how bad Speed 2: Cruise Control turned out. I guess money talks.

A connect the dots plot, painfully unfunny jokes and situations, and a Shatner put to waste. Somebody get me an aspirin!

Final Grade: F

Just glad I didn't pay money to see this. Got called in on my day off to watch it (projectionist). Longest 2 hours of my life.
