"New stuff has come to light, man!" 'THE BIG LEBOWSKI'

OMG, I just watched this with my brother on Saturday and I thought I was going to have an asthma attack from laughing so hard and so often!

I can't believe I went this long and managed to over look this film! I always liked the Cohen Bros, Raising Arizona is one of my favorite comedies, but I just always thought this film looked too weird for me. Now, it is weird, but it's also one of the drop dead funniest films i've seen in quite awhile.

I was so impressed with it, that after it was over I immediately went out and bought it, which wasn't hard because there's a video store right around the corner that had two used copy's of the dvd for sale for 7 bucks. Great deal.

I've never heard so much all out profanity in a comedy before, they use the F word so much it makes Tony Montana in Scarface seem like a cub scout by comparison! Not complaining though, it added to the hilarity of the film.

I've never seen Jeff Bridges like this before, he was great as 'The Dude' and John Goodman, OMG, John Goodman was like a live grenade that could go off at any moment! He stole every scene he was in, which was quite a bit.

Their are so many funny lines in the film I could spend all night typing them all!

Anyway, just thought i'd share with you guys and gals, what a fool I was for not seeing it sooner!

About time you saw it! Now when someone says "the dude abides" you'll understand the reference.

I think it's a bit overrated. Then again maybe I'd enjoy it more if I were stoned each time I watched it? Kind of like watching a Cheech & Chong movie.

I just find it double funny that this film would be "too weird" -- it's not like experimental avante cinema or anything.

Glad you finally got around to it, welcome to the club of Lebowski lovers... It's you and 4 million college kids.

Ah, bring on the Lebowski quote thread, which this is obviously about to commence. Watching some of the Return of the King commentaries recently, I remembered a reaction I had one time to Aragorn's line when Elrond first mentions the Army of the Dead: "They believe in nothing!" An Army of...Nihilists?

"Ve believe in NUSSINK, Lebowski!"

"Nihilists! Fuck me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos."

The first time I rented this movie, I was watching it with my family and after a while my mom finally said, "This movie has no redeeming value. There is more pointless cussing in this than anything I've ever seen!" And right at that point, Sam Elliot asked the Dude why he had to cuss so much. I totally lost it

Yeah, his character is based on John Milius, with whom the Coens are good friends. Arguably the best contribution to cinema Milius has ever made

I'm not sure whether to beam proudly or resent that.

John, now you're no longer "out of your element".

Goodman is awesome in Lebowski. As is Bridges. But Walter steals the show, truly.

"Do you see what happens? Do you see what happens when you $u#k a stranger in the @$$?"

And possibly the best line in the whole movie...

"AM I THE ONLY ONE AROUND HERE WHO GIVES A $H!T ABOUT THE RULES?!?"

Awesome. I was thinking about starting a Big Lebowski thread a week or two ago when I saw it again over Christmas with my brother. I love this movie.

One of my favorite exchanges in the movie...

"I'll take the gun from your hand, shove it up your ass and pull the trigger 'till it goes click"

"Jesus"

"You said it, man. Nobody fucks with the Jesus."

"8 year olds, Dude"
