Wallace and Gromit

Here's a behind-the-scenes video for the full-length feature film to be released in October.

Best animated film, 2005.

Looks like a lot of fun, and if it's anything close to the original shorts in quality, I think it's a certain Oscar winner.

Smashing!

The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

I thought they were making a Tortoise and the Hare movie before they were making Wallace and Gromit?

I believe that has been postponed - story problems, or something. If memory serves, the film was going to be a sports mockdumentary about the famous race between the two.

Chicken Run was fun, but to me not real greatness. Wallace and Grommit have something crucial that lifts them up, they are just outstanding characters.

What other animated films are on tap? The robot film, the zoo animals, and when does Cars hit?

Does he? With Henry Selick, or someone else? That is quite exciting.

Haven't seen anything of Robots, but I don't think there's much buzz around that. The zoo film would be Madagascar, which looks to be very jokey, but not Oscar material. Cars has been moved to 2006.

There is, however, Howl's Moving Castle. Should that get a US release in 2005, they might be up against Miyasaki, who of course won a couple of years ago for Spirited Away.

It is going to be an interesting contest. Look forward to see how the films pan out.

I think the Oscars should be very interesting since there'll be all types of animation.

Burton's movie is called The Corpse Bride, and he's directing it along with someone named Mike Johnson. Here are pics from it:

Love the Johnny Depp character in the second photo.
