Actually, "Remember, remember, the fifth of November" is the first line in a nursery rhyme which refers to Guy Fawkes' famous attempt to blow up Parliament. I'm sure many are probably already aware of this. I think the whole nursery ryhme goes:
"Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot."
The film actually opens November 4th.
In light of recent events in England:

The cast looks pretty good also. Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving, Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry, John Hurt

I'm actually a little annoyed that the Wachoski Bros. are getting the line on the poster. I think it should be more along the lines of "Alan Moore's V is for Vandetta" like Frank Miller's Sin City. We know that was Robert's baby but he made sure that Frank got all the credit. Though I guess for that matter we might as well have "Stan Lee's Spider-man" "Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Superman" and "Bob Kane's Batman".
Nonetheless the movie looks good.

Sin City WAS the comic though. V for Vendetta is an adaptation, and Alan Moore is no fan of said. He ven had his name removed totally from Constantine, I think.

didn't Rodriguez say Miller was on the set all the time helping out?

i thought LXG was as mildly entertaining as Constantine. LXG had it's fun campy moments and Constantine had it's suspenseful moments too, but both were few are far between.
btw, if it hasn't been raised, V's release date is getting pushed back to
march '06

Yeah, Moore is very displeased with the V producers. Joel Silver claimed a while back that he had spoken with Moore and received his blessing on the project, which Moore says was a total lie and which pretty well killed any chance the project had of getting his approval (it also helped lead to Moore quitting his relationship with DC Comics). Moore then read the script and declared that it was "imbecilic". So yeah, I think he's happy with keeping his name off the movie poster.

Pretty sure Moore wants his name off of the movie altogether.

Well, at least David Lloyd has given the script/film his blessing.

Yup, Moore definitely got his name removed:
"Based on the Graphic Novel Illustrated by David Lloyd and Published by DC Comics"

Anyone know where you can buy the teaser poster? The one with just the mask. I've searched all over and have found the theatrical poster in many places, but still can't find the poster of just the mask.
The movie looks interesting, but it doesn't look very faithful to the book. That's fine though, I'm sure it'll still be entertaining.
Luckily, right at that moment, an unconscious Argentinean fell through my roof.
He was quickly joined by a dwarf dressed as a nun.
