Boogie Nights script mistake?? Warning bad language... filtered by a spoiler

Since the line is "not clean" I will spoiler it, it contains bad language.

When william h macys character is talking to the cameraman while his wife is "having sex" with a guy on the driveway, william macys character says:

Spoiler:
yes I am upset, my wife has an ass in her cock

was that intentional or did Macy mess up his line?

Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers, Lo, there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning, Lo, they do call to me, they bid me take my place among them, In the halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live...

I always took it that he was upset and flustered. Seemed to fit perfect with the frustration he was feeling at the time, especially with the camera guy trying to talk to him about the new lens.

That was my take as well. I always wonder why in films or television, charaters hardly eve ever botch their speech just like people do in real life

I always found it to be funny. Me and my friend quote that line all the time.

todd's link refers to someone saying this:

Quote:
I bought the shooting script to Boogie Nights, and for the record, it says,
Spoiler:
My wife's got a cock in her ass.
I guess the script supervisor was having a bad day.

That's possible, but it seems more likely to me that Macy just flubbed the line, only to have P.T. Anderson like it and decide to keep it in.

Definitely. That's always been one of my favorite lines. It's a happy accident.

I say it's because "cock in her ass" would've got them an NC-17.

Nice Patrick,

It was an unintentional flub by Macy. P.T. though Macy did a great job, which he did in that scene, and decided to keep it the way it was. Who knows if Macy could of delivered such a great job more than once?

Ryan

Bill Macy doesn't flub lines. That's got to be scripted.

Maybe, Tim, but even the best actors mess up a line or two on occasion.
