Why keep drawing attention to those awful boards?

That thread is just so wrong, I don't even want to comment on it. Everyone who posted in that thread should be banned from the Internet for life.

Jesus Christ, I lost about 10 I.Q. points reading those two IMDB threads. And believe me, I don't have many to spare.

What I hate most about IMDB's boards is that they put the posts on display on every movie page. So if you manage to scroll down accidentally, you can be exposed to all that garbage. This unfortunately happened to me a few minutes ago, as I was viewing screenwriter Steve Kloves' filmography and scrolled down more than I wanted to. And what did I catch a brief glimpse of? Some heartless bastard who posted a huge spoiler to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (a book that I have not read yet) in the subject of his post.

Okay, I just went and checked out the Steve Kloves message board, and I didn't see any threads with a spoiler, and the one there that seemed like it would be a spoiler, wasn't.

As for the rest of the boards, you can go to any random one and find an equally silly post about whatever. We could literally go on forever with posts that are a variation of: "Look at what these gooberheads had to say about (insert movie or whatever here)"

One thing I like about IMDB is how pathetically predictable and unoriginal some of the posts are. Once in awhile, you're guaranteed to find threads with titles like "THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME" or "MOST OVERRATED MOVIE EVER". I just love the hyperbole.

That second one is constantly under excellent/popular movies. I knew even before the first time I looked on the page of Pulp Fiction that I would find a thread with that title in its message board section. You don't have to just be disgusted by the stupidity of those message boards...their stupidity is good for a laugh sometimes too.
