I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this due to me not desiring to peruse 2 pages...
I am utterly disgusted with the marketing strategy for this film and others as well. Absolutely too much information is being revealed in the trailers. Each one seems to be getting longer and longer showing more seens and added narrative to the story. I feel that this is the worst way to spoil any film. I have to change the channel constantly when I see any trailer come on for this for fear of getting too mch info as to ruin the film for me and not wanting to go see it. A teaset trailer should be just that, a teaser, not an plot revealer trailer.

The overhyped,
Ryan Wishton, It's great that you are going into this movie with low expectations. You will probably enjoy it.
Maybe this will help downplay the movie a bit so that you are not overly hyped.
It is a low budget horror flick and it shows. The acting is not great. The plot seemed solid, but after thinking a little about the movie there were parts that I thought weren't that good.
Jeff Brickhouse,
I agree with you on the marketing of this movie. it would be so cool if you could see this movie without ever seeing a trailer or without reading any write ups on it. But then again how would you get interested in the movie. The object of trailers is to get as many seats filled in the theaters as possible. These trailers seem like they are giving away the first part of the movie in hopes that you want to see how it ends. The shock value of most scenes have been diminished due to the trailers. The wire scene would have been way more effective if we had not seen it in the trailer.
Everyone, lower your expections one notch and you won't be disapointed.
Enjoy the movie, I did
Mark

Mark M.,
Let me backpedal just a step. After seeing the *very* first teaser trailer is all I needed to see to get hooked. It had just enough to peak interest and not enough to diminish going to the show. I long to see a great horror once again as I did in my teen years catching all the 70's and 80's greats. Fingers crossed, I'm jumping in.

Definitely lower your expectations. This is a low budget thriller. Made for $1 million in 18 days. It's pretty impressive on a technical level from that perspective, but it's nothing so cool or freaky as the ad campaign.
It's an interesting, above-average film from some dudes making their first movie. I give them full kudos...there is some stuff of note here.
They did a Q&A last night after the screening, and they're great guys. Making this film under such circumstances will make them even better filmmakers.

Don't need any trailers, the word of mouth here is enough for me to get it when it comes out on DVD.
Is this a sequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

How'd you get that idea? Oh...maybe the word Saw? Regardless, no. This movie has nothing to do with either of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre flicks.

Question for you yanks, how heavily is this movie advertised in the US? tv-spots? billboards?
It´s gonna have a wide release in about 2000 cinemas so i´m just wondering how heavily it can hit..

I've seen virtually no advertising for it.
They flutter behind you, your possible pasts.
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.
