Exorcist IV makes film history--in an unexpected way

saw this while browsing Movie City News.

http://www.thejournalnews.com/newsro...3schrader.html

This is the first time, as far as anyone can tell, that a movie was filmed, edited, turned in to the studio, and then completely re-cast and re-shot with a different director.

Schraders finished film will never see release.

They'd be foolish to bin the whole thing. I'd think it will see a video release, at least, at some point in the future.

Sweet. Renny Harlin. He just SCREAMS Exorcist to me.

Another modern myth for us film fans,

It doesn't look like Morgan Creek is painting a very good picture for themselves. Only the most desperate of directors are going to want to work with them, as far as I can see.

The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

There's also this in the HTF Movies forum:

Not enough gore in Exorcist IV, so they fired Paul Schrader
