What's the situation with the rights to Casino Royale? Is it like Thunderball or did EON eventually obtain the rights to it?

Yes, EON did obtain the rights to Casino Royale, as well as the rights to Thunderball.

> Apparently, Brosnan's choice is Farrell

You know, I think Will is a great comic actor, and maybe he could do action, but I just don't see him as Bond.

Colin's too short. I'm surpised the guy from MI-2 is listed at 6'. Then again, Cruise tends to wear up to 5" lifts when he's playing against taller actors.

Collin Farrel, not Will Ferrel.

You know, when I read the headline on Dark Horizons, that was the first thought that came to mind.

As much as I'd like to see it, he seems to have no interest in the role. Considering how EON is treating the character, do you really blame him?

I think Farrell could do an awesome Bond. My first choice would be Owen but Farrell wouldn't be too far behind. I'd love to see Brosnan back (loved him as Bond) but it appears that's not gonna happen.

Actually, Cary Elwes is an interesting suggestion.

I have a hard time taking Orlando seriously - Bond with long white hair? (I know, I know.. he worked out all right in PotC..)

Oh. My. Just had a horriffic thought. What about Johnny Depp? That could be... bizarre.

I don't know, how about if we challange the writers a bit? Imagine an older Bond... say a more... sinister, psychologically powerful... menancing Bond... I'm trying to think of someone with presence.. like Peter Cushing in Star Wars, or someone like that?

Leo Kerr

for the record, I'm one of the sick few that liked Timmy Dalton.

I liked Dalton too. It wasn't his fault License to Kill sucked. I thought The Living Daylights was good.

I was reminded of my Elwes suggestion again with his new movie coming out. Maybe that will give him some exposure to make him a real contender. The goofy pic of him in the most recent EW won't help him though.

Actor tipped to be first black Bond

Colin Salmon

And, in somewhat more Bondish garb:
