Serious Quesiton: Is 28 Days Later sort of gay movie?

It was kind of cool but not as good as I thought it would be but there was something that really bothered me about the film. Is it kind of a Gay movie in the same way Freddy part 2 is? I mean, the opening scene shows a full frontal nude scene from a man (not too often in movies). Later on when they are offered the chance to take a shower the only that is shown taking the shower nude is the man...what about the other ladies? Maybe its just me to me thats kind of weird. Please this is a serious question so not flames and if I am breakiing any rule please delete the post.

I don't see how those two scenes make the film 'gay'. If that were the case then every film with a naked woman could be considered 'lesbian'.

Of course, there will always be those who see gay subtext in EVERYTHING they see or hear.

Don't forget that this is a British film and male nudity just tends to be a bit more common in our homegrown flicks (i.e. anything with Eway McGregor that isn't Star Wars).

My point is not that male nudity is gay but rather that basically there was no need for it. I mean if all 3 are going to take the shower then why only show the male nude? See my point?

You're reading WAY to much into this. Welcome to Europe, where nudity isn't a big deal at all.

There is almost never a need for the female nudity that is shown in so many movies either, what's your point?

As Mike said, the same could be said about virtually every female nude scene in a Hollywood film.

Don't forget that the lead role in the film is male, so quite rightly, the focus is on him.

If it makes you feel uncomfortable, perhaps you might think about how your female friends and family feel every time they see naked women on the screen for 'no reason'.

It's supposed to be a metaphorical birth - you're not born with clothes on.

Eh, the person is from Texas.

Well - There it is.

Exactly. And you don't shower with your clothes on either.
