“A uniquely wry black comedy… funny and refreshing!” – Donald Levit, Reel Talk
From acclaimed director Agust Gudmundsson (The Dance) and producer Andy Paterson (Girl with a Pearl Earring) comes a story of love and murder in a remote fishing village in 1950s Iceland.
The beautiful and seductive Freya has just returned from America, after the death of her husband, to begin a new life. Her slender figure, chic clothes and new world sophistication arouse the envy of the local women and quickly get the attention of the men. But eleven-year-old Agga, Freya’s young cousin, suspects the sexy stranger may not be what she seems. It’s not long before the quiet town is turned upside down, women are asserting their independence and men are mysteriously keeling over. Life in this sleepy little village will never be the same, and neither will little Agga.
