House of the Dead: Worst film ever?
I just rented this cinematic pain parade. Holy Jesus mother of all that is holy, how did this movie get produced? This film is bar-none the WORST film I have ever seen, and argueably it could be the WORST film ever created. Just thinking about this movie makes me angry!
*Whats the deal with videogame footage being spliced into the film?
*Springboards, Do we have to see them on-screen?
*Bullettime zoom-around the actors/actresses. Why?
*Acting: Probably worse than 'Manos: The Hands of Fate'
*Characters, especially Cap'n Kirk's 1st mate, taken from 'Manos: The Hands of Fate'. (I'll call him torgo)
*In-your face while running camera. Yes, the audience likes foggy lenses.
The list could continue...but my anger at a movie is so great I have to go do omething else right now.....I need a drink.

It was campy bad, but to compare it to Manos or its like only devalues this film too far. You need to see some of the dregs that Troma picks up and releases.
And it was a video game originally, so it helps explain the video game footage a bit.
The bullet-time was pretty funny because they used it so many times you could have been watching a recording of a Max Payne level.

I have seen SO MANY negative (I mean REALLY negative) reviews of this I am tempted to pull it from my Netflix queue.

AHEM... Street Fighter.
My DVDs
Homer: So, Mr. Malloy, it seems that the cat has been caught by the very person who was trying to catch him.
Skinner: How ironic.

Maybe not the worst ever...but surely one of the worst theatrical releases of the past several years.
How this one didn't go DTV is waaaaay beyond me.

I gave it a shot, because truth be told I sort of enjoy lame horror movies if some effort was put into it, but this . . . thing may have turned me off to even watching such crap on the Sci-Fi Channel! And they gave this guy more money to make other movies?!! Oh, let's stop and do the bullettime spin with EVERY SINGLE LIVING CHARACTER!

And you believe, at heart, everyone's a killer...

Trust me, either Street Fighter was a godsend compared to HOTD. Seriously, This is worse than Than a Gigli/Adrenaline sandwich stuffed inside a rotting copy of Hellcats being played backwards.

I've seen Street Fighter, Super Mario Brothers, Double Dragon.....
I've seen Gigli, Ghost Ship, Darkness Falls, and several of the worst reviewed movies of the year (or past few years).....
None of them even hold a candle to House of the Dead. It was so relentlessly bad I couldn't believe it. I knew it was supposed to be crap, but I thought maybe I could enjoy it on the shoot-em-up fun campy level. No such luck. Stay far far away from this one.

Then I take it you've seen it?
"Safe? Who knows what's safe? I know a man who dropped dead from lookin' at his wife. My own grandmother fought the indians for sixty years, then choked to death on lemon pie."
