Cheers jeremy, but i was after just movie reviews and as good as this forum is i need a comprehensive database of movies dating back to the 30's or 40's

30's and 40's? If they're out there, I'm pretty sure you're not going to be able to get them for free.

The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

I need to rephrase this. all i want is a website that reviews movies but also contains screenshots along with the reviews. Surely some sites review movies made before the 50,s? however that's not essential as long as the site has a wide range of reviews.

The only sites that I know of that would review old films now would be DVD review sites. Screenshots of the DVD? No movie-only review has those. You'd need to look for DVD reviews. This is the best search engine database thing for DVD reviews:
