i'm not sure what to make of this criticism.
what do you think people were doing in the streets of london and new york the day world war 2 ended? probably screaming something very similar to this. no doubt screaming something. or just screaming.
who wouldn't act "goofy" at a time like that?

Oh come now.
I found it goofy. I found a lot of the film goofy (Morpheus-as-copilot, Bane channeling Smith). I know you don't agree, and you don't have to "make" anything of my observation.
I'm glad you found it so moving.

What I liked was Morpheus's change from absolute, steadfast certainty in the first film to his uncertainty in the last film. His repeated saying of "I don't know" really struck a chord with me.
I don't know if it means anything, but on the refrigerator in the Oracle's kitchen, the plastic magnetic letters spelled out GOOD

Sure, the film had plenty of cheesy lines:
"I didn't finish the training program"
"Neither did I"
But I loved it anyway. Initially I was a little disappointed, not overly though. It definitely sits well with me this morning. My main problem with the film is the one most others share, the war down in Zion goes on too long. But it still comes off as minor nitpick. What I love about this trilogy is that each film does feel different, it is always moving forward to its end goal.

although I liked the part where they went into the original dojo where Neo and Morpheus fought
|
It did look like the dojo, but the dojo in the first film wasn't part of the Matrix, it was a training program, Neo doesn't go back into the Matrix until he goes to see the Oracle and If I'm not mistaken, he stays in the matrix until the end of the film, after Dying, Coming back and defeating Smith.

I don't think the war in zion went on too long--it was perfect length. The problem is they only cut back to the squiddie chase. if they'd cut from the war, to the chase, to Neo's approaching of the Machine City, I think that would have been close to perfect. But they didn't do that. Maybe they thought it would have been too much to try to tell all at the same time? I don't know. It's not like those parts couldn't have been broken up and edited between, i don't think.

Perhaps, but it felt like they spent too long with those Mech's shooting the Sentinels. Like I said it is a minor point with me, some of the shots were just awe-inspiring. The shot with the Sentinels coming through like a swarm of locusts was amazing.
I must comment on the CG, there was not one instance that I was taken out of the film. There was just so much going on that I didn't stop to roll my eyes in disbelief. I'm sure repeat viewings may show flaws, but as someone who has only been once it was stunning.
