While doing my usual apple.com/trailer
routine, I stumbled upon the trailer for "Anything
Else"
, which I actually hadn't very high hopes for after
seeing the (imho)ugly poster.

So the trailer starts and my jaw almost imediately drops to the
floor.

The Cinematography (by Darius Khondji) is
totally awesome and I can't wait to see the film,
but it also leaves me wondering which genius graphic
designer at Dreamworks came up with the totally NOT
matching poster and title design (the font is pure horror).

Yeah...From the promotional aspect, it's hard to believe it's a Woody Allen film...but, with the trailer...ooo...this is the Woody I've missed! I gotta see it. I just have to!

I am looking forward to this for sure as I have read a few early reviews from the Venice Film Festival saying that its vintage Woody Allen...so basically I am very exicted. I hope that it does well this weekend...

I haven't seen the full trailer for this, but I really like what I've seen from the TV spots. Looks like a surprisingly witty movie, but then again, I really like Woody Allen.

I hope it beats out that Under the Tuscan Sun movie which is just a little too much of a chic flick...

I guess we'll see, it's up against some pretty tough competition, but I'm sure Anything Else will have a good showing.

Anything Else appears to be opening pretty wide for a Woody Allen film - it's the first time one of his has ever been shown at my local Cinemark. I'll definitely be seeing it Friday.

Holy Shit! A Woody movie which doesn't focus on him and a woman half his age! And the dialog is very much in the vein of Annie Hall, the kind of way we'd all be talking if we could stop and think in the middle of a verbal barrage.

Surprised that someone wasn't talking about this earlier, since the trailer has been out for a few weeks now.

Looks like someone got smart and realized that Woody can't sell films on name power alone. In fact, his name on a film probably hurts more than helps nowadays, considering Woody tends to be the butt of jokes.

It also looks like they are marketing to a new generation, which is probably a good thing. Annie Hall for the 21st century.

This has been a long running gag in all of his films (young attractive women way out of his league). I don't understand why people act like he just started doing this.

Well - There it is.

But as Adam said...its not what this movie is about...Allen takes the role of the mentor from what I have said..

And not that it totally matters...but my mom (eek..big dork here) just told me that Ebert and Roeper just gave it two thumbz up....
