Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star

I don't know why, but I seem to respond to David Spade's brand of humor. Tommy Boy was the best, but I even found some value in Joe Dirt (shocking as that may be). This one looks kind of funny, to a point. The trailer kind of goes south once Rob Reiner shows up, but there are some laughs after that despite a pretty shaky premise. Anyone else considering seeing this?

Tiny little trailer. I don't know if there's a better version out there.

I saw this at a screener and hated it. It had some moments of laughs, but and overall mindless retarded movie.

My thoughts based just on premise and trailer:

Spade playing an obnoxious spoiled former child star could make for one funny movie. But it seems that the main plot is him 'moving in with a regular family' and that seems a really bad direction to go in.

But hope springs eternal. Spade CAN be very funny; I hope this one's good.

That's about what I thought, Scott. Everything's going along okay until the bizarre "start over from childhood" plot shows up. I'm guessing this won't be Tommy Boy funny.
