Jeff -
That is somewhat good news. I wonder why the change of heart over at Miramax? I hope they go all the way and don't cut it.

If that is true, then it is great news. I'll go see it twice at the local art house theater if it's subtitled. Let's hope word-of-mouth kicks in during limited release, so everyone gets to see it.

grrrrrrrrrr, this was supposed to open here (toronto) the other week. It hasn't been released and it was on my local cinemas "upcoming movies" list for August, it never opened and now isn't on the list at all.
I can only assume it didn't do too well in the rest of US/Canada so they have stopped the release.
Anyone else in North America seen it in the cinema or know if it is on anywhere in toronto?
I did want to see it in the cinema first, but I guess I shall just have to get it on DVD.

David, check a few posts above you - Miramax has delayed the release, and it's going to be a platform, subtitled release instead of going wide.
Jay's Movie Blog - A movie-viewing diary.
Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.
"What? Since when was this an energy ball movie?" - Overheard during a screening of Takashi Miike's Dead Or Alive
"What the hell religion are you people?" - Overheard during the Captain Marvel serial at SF/29
"If I feel even one bullet hit me, I will rip your lungs out through your nostrils!" - Ron Silver as himself, "Heat Vision And Jack"

The trailer I saw at my local art-house theatre on Friday night was dubbed... They did have a cool poster of it hanging in one of the "coming soon" frames.
high resolution ipod featuring dlp hd programming is the best, almost as good as playstation 2 with wega windows media on a super cd! ps2 and tivo do dolby tv with broadband hdtv!

And the dubbing was really awful, far, far worse than say the Drunken Master dub, which was really pretty good. There is no way I'm going to see it unless we get it subtitled.

I read a couple of reviews and it's amazing how the perception of the coach is changed because of the first scene being cut. What I find worse is that one reviewer found this to be an acceptable cut having seen the movie before. The other one made the coach sound like some bum.

Don't you mean "Lame". The translation for the subtitles are quite funny at times. I wonder if they still call it "The Evil Team" in this release?

They're intentionally called "The Evil Team", we're not talking about high-art cinema here The term "lame" means you're crippled, which the coach is.

I'd read that this was supposed to be subtitled. FWIW, the film opened here a couple weeks ago, and it was dubbed. Someone who had seen it before also mentioned that there were cuts. So don't get your hopes up unless Miramax has changed their mind again.

Dark Horizons has said that the release date has been pushed back again. No new date has been anounced. C'mon guys, how difficult is it to release the film with subtitles? Just put the darn thing out now.

It was probably a test screening. Ohio is about as "middle america" as you get
