Who Will Be The Next Bond?

Pierce Brosnan has done unbelievable job, but rumors suggest that the next Bond movie will be his last.

So, who do you suggest would make a great next Bond? In my opinion, the choice is very hard to make, as i've gotten really use to Brosnan, and its hard for me to picture anyone else. I'm thinking maybe they'll try casting someone like Colin Farrell, not sure though.

Ewan McGregor might work. Colin Farrell would be a good choice too.

However, when are they going to finally make CASINO ROYALE into a serious Bond movie? That book rocks!

Considering how long it is going to be until they need to cast a new Bond (4-5 years, I would guess), doing any casting right now will probably be worthless, since we probably haven't met the new Bond yet...

On that note, I personally like Clive Nolan. He's good looking and has a cool demeanor.

The only "Clive Nolan" listed at IMDb was a driver on a 1995 film called The Reggae Movie. Do you mean "Clive Owen" (as in Croupier, Gosford Park, The Bourne Identity)? He'd certainly be a good choice.

Yeah, Clive Owen is my current favorite for the role. His brief role in The Bourne Identity locked it in for me.

As I recall, previous favorties include Jude Law and Jeremy Northam (at least I think).

I hope they do the next Bond as a period piece back in the 60s. That would be fun and much more interesting. Back to the roots.

They don't need a new Bond so much as they need to wrench the property from the Brocollis (fat chance, I realize). Until then, the series will remain formulaic and interchangeable with each other.

My ideal Bond movie would have a pre-credits sequence that would appear to be the ending of another Bond adventure, only with Bond losing and the Evil Genius Supervillain succeeding in taking over the World/Europe/America/Whatever.

Opening credits roll, and the rest of the movie features Bond doing actual espionage work behind enemy lines inside the new regime, coordinating with fifth column groups and partisan resistance. The thrust of the movie would then be how Bond (working deep underground alongside M and Q but not a "sanctioned" 00-agent) would work with other groups/agents to topple this New Order. There'd be "gadgets" -- nothing sleek, state-of-the-art, or flashy, but rather raw, functional, vicious, deadly. "Knives within shoes" and all that fun stuff. The ending would be full-staged infantry battle scenes crosscutting with Bond leading a small infiltration unit within the Bad Guy's Central Command/Headquarters/Undeground Lair/etc..

And yes, a final hand-to-hand battle with Bad Guy. I'll relent on that one!

Of course, this would never happen... alas.

As for a new Bond... Hugh Jackman. He's got the physicality and the gravitas.

Why not...I second Angelo M.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

To change the formula, CASINO ROYALE would be a perfect vehicle.

Assuming they stay true to the source material, there is only so many explosions and surfing scenes they can put in the movie.

This is the perfect book they need to revitalize the series...dark and focused on plot and character.
