Runaway Jury

John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Rachel Weisz, Jeremy Piven, Luis Guzmán, Melora Walters, Orlando Jones...talk about your kickass cast!
The man I loved - the man who vanished - he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there, somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.

Well it comes out friday. I've read the book, it was a very solid book and the movie looks to be pretty good.
Guess no one else is looking forward to this one.

I've been looking forward to this film for awhile, once I found out that old acting school roommates "Hackman and Hoffman" were in it. I can't believe this is their first film together.

Why, oh why, did they change it to a gun story? I am bewildered.

Because they wanted it to feel contemporary, and suits against big tobacco are no longer on the cutting edge.

I saw this movie and enjoyed it. It was well acted and was an eye opener to how a jury could be tampered. I'm shocked to hear the book was about the tobacco industry. That changes the entire story....guess I gotta read the book now.

With spoilers(to avoid any problems), can someone sum up the book differences?
The movie was alright. Dissappointing that there was only one scene with Hackman and Hoffman in the same frame

And that scene wasn't even in the original script. It was written during production, just so they'd have a scene together.

Could someone PM me the ending? I've read the book...and I want to see the movie, but not if the verdict is against the gun manufacturer. (I don't care what Easter does in the end...just the courtroom verdict.)
