Tron what a great movie indeed

Last year I bought the dvd and was simply gobsmacked at how well it still holds today. No wonder that the dvd was so well done as the same folks who did LOTR EX ED.

anyway I found the following website http://www.tron-sector.com/articles/article.aspx?ID=145 with an interview with Harrison Ellenshaw who also worked on SW plus there is also news on CineFantastique's Aapril / May issue on 20years of Tron.

Tron is one of my favourite movies of all time. I just read the article you linked toa dn was slightly disappointed that they were talking about the new movie in that it might be made or what if.

I thought this got the green light? Any one got any info? And 20 years later all the actors could reprise their roles. Please have Sarc in it again.

End of line.

This is my sig. There may be others like it but this one is mine.

I like Tron. The visuals are stunning, the sound remix is excellent, and the story is good. The dialogue is a little hokey at times, but since I am a SW fan, I can live with it.

I dug out my Tron DVD earlier this week and finally made my way through all the special features. I'm hoping the sequel finally gets off the ground. The original was great, and I'd love to see it revisited.

I've always considered Tron to be the original Matrix.

The DVD is outstanding (except for the double thick case). I've never enjoyed a 2nd disc or commentary more than this one, because the process of creating Tron was truly unique.

The other thing I love about Tron is that, like the best of today's franchise movies, it is 100% Tron. The design, look, story, soundtrack, and tone are all pure Tron. It may not be a great critical movie, but it's so faithful to itself it's a joy to watch.

I love movies that take me somewhere and keep me there. Tron does this excellently (until the Journey song at the credits!)

They're in pre-pre production. THey have a script, are doing designs, many of which are reflected in the Tron 2.0 game. If the game does well, supposedly that along with the strong DVD sales will greenlight it officially

Tron has already been remade. Have you seen the trailer for Spy Kids 3-D? Tron all the way, baby...

A few years ago I was working for a company here in L.A. that was partly owned by Donald Kushner, the producer of Tron. It was cool having various Tron posters around the office. Anyway, a nice lady by the name of Peggy Lisberger(wife of Tron director/writer Steven Lisberger) also worked there at the time. One day we talked and I told her how much I loved Tron. She told me a few interesting things, the brilliant composer Wendy Carlos was a man that had a sex change(she's a man, baby!) and that Steve had written a script for Tron 2 and it was ready to go, they just needed financing.

Recently I talked to a friend that's read the Tron 2.0 script and she told me a bit about it, Flynn is still the owner of the large company and so on, but she wasn't overly impressed with it. But I do hope at some point Tron 2.0 is made because movies like The Matrix just took the premise, expanded upon it a bit and ran with it.
