A few years ago I was working for a company here in L.A. that was partly owned by Donald Kushner, the producer of Tron. It was cool having various Tron posters around the office.
Anyway, a nice lady by the name of Peggy Lisberger(wife of Tron director/writer Steven Lisberger) also worked there at the time. One day we talked and I told her how much I loved Tron. She told me a few interesting things, the brilliant composer Wendy Carlos was a man that had a sex change(she's a man, baby!) and that Steve had written a script for Tron 2 and it was ready to go, they just needed financing.
Recently I talked to a friend that's read the Tron 2.0 script and she told me a bit about it, Flynn is still the owner of the large company and so on, but she wasn't overly impressed with it. But I do hope at some point Tron 2.0 is made because movies like The Matrix just took the premise, expanded upon it a bit and ran with it.
