I didn't like the whole soundtrack, but as an Evanescence fan I liked a good portion of it

Even if the movie wasn't bad, when you watch it in 5 years the soundtrack, being bad now, will really stand out.

Yah, it'll definitely be dated. As is Manhunter for example, but I still love it.

I saw this at a friend's house last night. I'm pretty open to most movies, but I ended up mostly hating this flick. I agree with all four points from that CNN article. The pacing just felt really off. The soundtrack was terrible (we all groaned when that Evanescence song came on, it's been overplayed for months). I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I was very disappointed. The ads looked cool and I truly wanted to like it, but I've gotta be honest with myself.

I've got a question, but forgive me if the answer is really obvious. In the scene where Elektra gets impaled, I know it's just like in the comic book, but how come the sai basically pushes her shirt out instead of just going right through it? Did she wear some kind of protective shielding on her back or something?
Oh yeah, I too am one of those people who wasn't sure if Elektra was alive or dead. It's mostly because she had her hand pierced, her throat cut, she was freaking impaled, and her heart stopped beating as far as we saw. I mean, she's only human right?

I know very little about oriental weaponry, but I think that the Sai is not a sharp weapon. They're used mostly to puncture with force, so once you break the skin, the weapon will be moving slower, making it harder to puncture something else.
Of course, I could be completly wrong.
Luckily, right at that moment, an unconscious Argentinean fell through my roof.
He was quickly joined by a dwarf dressed as a nun.

I finally saw this this week (it hasn't even played in theaters here, but I've already got the DVD. Weird, eh?)
I thought it was great. Enjoyed it far more than Spider-Man, even though DD had several pacing flaws that Spidey didn't. Still, Affleck sold the character far better than Maguire did. And although I agree with the complaints about Stick not being there, therefore creating a plot hole regarding Matt's martial arts skills, the film was so much fun that I was ready to forgive such oversights. A little campy at times, but the camp factor worked to its advantage.
Overall, this feels like the first X-Men movie: An enjoyable action flick that will lead to an amazing sequel. Here's hoping

Man, an hour wasted on this sig! Thanks, Toshiba! :p
