I think they are trying to boost Dreamcatcher's numbers. And I was going to see DC anyway, so this is icing on the cake.

And I think it will work.

It's win-win,
Chuck

It really is a win-win.

Also, how many big movies does WB have coming out between now and Matrix 2? This is a good movie to tack this onto.

The Vampire Hunter D voice connection does make sense, because the short was done by the same animation company.

I did a search and couldn't find an Animatrix discussion thread. If one exists, I apologize for making this post.

(admin note - merged thread with this thread)

Anyway, I loved Matriculated, but the ending got kind of confusing.

I mean, why was the heroine surprised to find herself back in the simulation? She and the others tried so hard to get that robot to have positive feelings about their little "anti-matrix," so there should be no surprise that the robot wants to go back.

It seems she died. That part I don't get. What killed her?

What was the meaning of the last scene? Was it just to show that the robot is alone? Is he waiting for more robots to convert? Is he just being depressed about the death of his new friend?

Any shared thoughts would be appreciated.

Here's an interesting article on Matriculated . It's mostly synopsis with a short analysis at the end.

In light of that link, the ending would seem to say that the machine is grieving since it prefers the human "anti-matrix" construct, but its of no use since there are no humans left alive there for him to experience it with.

Thanks for the link. There's a little more for me to chew on now.
