Loading question

Purchased a new Pioneer XM Ready receiver I activated a couple of days ago tonight received a loading message on receiver display that shows loading going on for more than an hour and still loading Is this normal, what could possibly be loading for such a long period of time. I can receive the channel the receiver was on before loading began but unable to change to other channels. Any ideas. Thanks

Re: Loading question

It *sounds* like an antenna problem, possibly.

Does the receiver have an external antenna and is it facing
out a window?

I'm guessing this is an A/V receiver and not really sure how
they work as far as antennas go. All I can say is that with
most any satellite radio receiver its antenna must be at a
window pointing towards the sky.

Ron
It is a AV receiver using a Audiovox CNP1000 external antenna, not sure what happened however pulled the AC plug for a couple of minutes and everything back to normal. The wonderful world of electronics. Thanks

Gerard,

That's great news!

How good/bad does the XM sound on your home theater setup?

Many of us are used to hearing it emanating from smaller devices.

Ron
I thought the Polk XRt12 was the best XM receiver available, not so these new XM ready receivers do a really good job, suspect the auto setup feature has alot to do with bringing XM back to what I remember it sounded like years ago. Best regards

Re: Loading question

That's interesting news to a current Polk XRT12 owner.

Glad you were able to get some decent audio quality out of
your receiver.
