I currently have XM but my brother has Sirius. He has a Sportster (not sure which but it's older) and I wanted to get him the Sportster 4. I confirmed with him today that he has his current radio hardwired into the Head unit of his car. I've heard bad things about the FM transmitter in the new Sportster. My question for those that have the Sportster 4, is how is it? Do you like it?

His radio now doesn't have artist notify or any of the newer features. So I'd like to get him something newer. Can he use the existing wires for the new sportster?

I just got a new one myself. I am very happy with it however the FM transmitters in all the new Sat Equipment have been downgraded. They had to weaken their signal in the head units.

If your brother does have a newer head unit in his car then he can hook it up several different ways. I am curretnly using the mp3 set up and the sound is fantastic.
