According to an article in PC MAGAZINE (2/7):

The number of subscribers to satellite radio
services is expected to more than double by
2007, according to new research. Could Howard
Stern's antics possibly be driving all that
growth?

Satellite Radio Subscribers in the U.S.,
by Company (in millions)

Sirius 1.14(2004) 3.22(2005) 5.10(2006*) 7.24(2007*)
XM 3.23(2004) 6.10(2005) 8.95(2006*) 11.81 (2007*)

* Projected

Just think how many subs XM will get once Sirius goes under due to their bad deal with Howard Stern!

Michael,

You know, as much as I dislike Sirius, I will
disagree with that statement.

A year ago I would have (and did) predict the
demise of Sirius due to what they are paying Howard.

It seems Sirius is holding their own thanks to the
number of new subscribers that Stern attracted.

The service isn't nearly out of the woods yet, but
in all fairness and honesty, I can say that they
surprised me.
