Ron - I remember reading that the digital output was a significant upgrade on the original SkyFi. Is it an equally significant upgrade on the SkyFi2? I'm asking because I've read comments that the analog output on the SkyFi2 is nearly as good as the digital output on the original SkyFi, so I'm wondering if the digital output on the SkyFi2 would offer even more improvement. Any speculation, based on your experience with the original SkyFi?
At any rate, $50 or so to add a digital output certainly seems a good price, at least for someone like me who would never begin to attempt a DIY job. Any comments you can provide would be most apppreciated.

I have also heard that the SkyFi2 analog
output is significantly better.'
I am going to send my unit in for an upgrade
by the end of the month.

Ron - Obviously this is reviving an old thread (with information about a special offer that is no longer valid), but I was curious if you went ahead and had the Toslink output added to your SkyFi or SkyFi2 modified, and what you think of the Toslink output if you did. I'm again contemplating having the Toslink output added, and I'd be curious to know your thoughts. I should have ordered it during this special, as the current price is closer to $85. Oh well, you snooze, you lose.
Thanks.

Steve,
I never upgraded it.
The main reason I didn't is because I own the
Polk XM receiver that has optical output. I felt
there was no need to add an additional output to
the SkyFi2 -- especially when I only use it in the
car these days.
I would still recommend the upgrade.
Best!

I went to MYRADIOSTORE.COM and I could not find anything on upgrading a SkyFi2 to optical output capability. I realize the deal is long dead but does anybody know if these guys still do this service or what other company might do it. I have an old Alpine head unit but it does have a Toslink digital input that I think I could use. Please advise, thanks.
