Delphi Expands Satellite Radio Product Line-Up by Introducing Delphi XM Signal Repeater

Provides XM Reception Wirelessly Throughout the Home and Office to Multiple Delphi Receivers

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Delphi Corp. (NYSEPH), America's leading satellite radio manufacturer with nearly 4.5 million receivers sold, announced today that it is expanding its satellite radio product line-up with the introduction of the Delphi XM Signal Repeater -- the first system that wirelessly rebroadcasts the XM satellite signal throughout most homes and smaller offices.

Innovatively designed, the repeater system includes both a transmitter and receive module. The transmitter down-converts the XM signal through the XM home or audio system antenna and rebroadcasts it through interior walls and floors at an expected distance between 75 and 100 feet. While in range, one or more receive modules can acquire and up-convert the signal back to the natural XM frequency -- passing it through just like a typical XM antenna. The end result is continues XM programming wirelessly throughout an indoor environment.

"The Delphi XM Signal Repeater eliminates the need for long and unsightly antenna extensions," said Joseph A. Damato, director consumer electronics, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. "In addition, it offers multiple radio environments the ability to share the same XM antenna and signal. As a result of this enabling technology, Delphi expects the application of indoor satellite radio to grow to new levels in the coming years." The Repeater system's sleek design allows for an attractive integration with the home or office environment and is compatible with Delphi's complete line-up of satellite radio receivers.

The Delphi XM Signal Repeater will debut at major consumer electronics stores this spring, at an expected retail price of $169 for the complete system and $69 for each additional receive module.

Delphi has sold more than 4 million satellite radio receivers including both OE and retail units. Delphi was the first company to integrate a radio into the dashboard in 1936, the first to bring satellite radio to the vehicle in 2001 and the first to bring a portable satellite radio boombox to the market in 2002. Delphi has a broad portfolio of products to answer a wide variety of information and entertainment needs. For more information about Delphi, visit http://www.delphi.com/media.

Note: Satellite reception depends on the ability of the antenna to receive a signal. The signal may not be available in buildings or if obstructed (e.g. by mountains, trees, bridges, etc.)
