Same old Sirius :(
Since I can't seem to access siriusbackstage(dot)com, I'll post this here...
I've only had my Sirius tuner for less than a month, but I have become quite disappointed by Sirius's repetition on Alt. Nation and 1st Wave. So much so that I bought an XM Roady. Some people at 'backstage' said they've heard improvements lately, so I turned off my XM Roady and hooked my Audiovox PNP back up to give a listen. While listening to Alt. Nation and 1st Wave, off and on over the last few hours, I've heard 2 songs each from the following artists/bands... Blondie, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Rancid, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bush, The Cars (are they even alternative?) and the Police. Pardon me, but doesn't Sirius have access to thousands of songs? If I heard 2 songs each from these artists within just a few hours, imagine if I listened all day! The worse part is that I know if I made notes of what songs were played tomorrow, you'd see these names all over again! I heard two Squeeze songs within a hour last Friday, and I heard another Squeeze song tonight. I've heard the Foo Fighters/Darling Nikki MANY times on Alt. Nation and I heard it again tonight. The same goes for the Beastie Boys/Fight for You Right to Party. Same songs and artists OVER and OVER!

Jim,
I am going to be visiting Sirius tomorrow and
will be back with a full report.
Your letter will be printed out and shown to
management.
All I can tell you is this.....
It is my understanding that management is aware
there are problems. It is their intent to fix those
problems in the upcoming weeks.
Don't ditch your Sirius yet until I get back.

Siriusbackstage.com of course, is not run by Sirius in any way shape nor form, the same way XMFan.com etc. is not affiliated with XM radio, etc.

I'm not sure why you were banned, but you were double posting, and that might have something to do with it. You are a member here, and they don't tolerate that kind of behavior, so you should know better than that. Also, there was a lot of negative posts last week, and people who continuously post negative comments for no reason have no place at our forum. Constructive critisizm is okay, but blatant bashing is not.

You did double post, according to info I have heard on XMFan.com and also Sirius Backstage. But I am glad your account got re-instated. You should not have been banned even if you did double post. I was just pointing out a possible reason.

Jim,
All is cool!
SIRIUSBACKSTAGE is a great forum. I don't anticipate
you having any further problems there.

The repetition on most of the streams will be taken care of when they increase their playlists starting this weekend. It will take a little while for them to get the playlists to the right point, but they have already begun to increase them on certain streams.

If Sirius does not start playing more progressive/concept album stuff than I'm going to dump them. I agree with prior reports of the same artists over and over again. Getting sick of The Doors, Santana, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Alman Bros. blah blah blah. Not even the NFL, which excited me at first because I could listen to the local Chicago broadcasts over my satellite tv picture, will get me to stay with them. It's about the music. I think a rock station with deep cuts by Yes, older Genesis, Crimson, Tull, even concept stuff by Rush, Kansas, etc., could do well with the 35 and older crowd (me included) They still don't seem to want to do this. Ron, if you're reading this, please print out this post and hand it to them when you do your show!
