Controlling Devices in Closed Cabinetry

Howdy.

I'm considering a purchase of antique furniture for my flat panel device storage. The problem I face is that I don't want to have the doors open to control the units. Is there anyway around this problem? There are multiple shelves, multiple devices.

Get a remote that works RF with an RF base station. Universal remote and Harmony are good. Depending on the cabinet and the equipment you may want to look at some kind of ventilation to remove the heat.

You should look into a hardwired ir(infared) kit. If your in the US you can get an ir kit for around $200, RF harmony's are around 500. From my experience the rf harmony remote comes with only 4 ir blasters. meaning you can only control 4 components and your tv. If you have more components or plan on getting more, you can get a cheaper harmony and a ir kit. Ir kits can support up to 12 components, from what I've seen.
