Exodus LCR Crossover

I purchased the Exodus LCR probably over a year ago and I've never had the time/weather/tools to complete the project all at the same time. I am finally working towards completing it, and for the first time, I unboxed the crossovers.... come to find out, I have to solder the board! I have never done this before and the instructions are so vague that I don't even know where to begin. The instructions say that the board is marked, but I don't see where the components are marked! I can match up the capacitors due to quantity and size, but I don't know what to do with the stacks of wire (which one is L15 and L16? Does it matter which lead goes in which hole -- basic electronics would make me think not, but I want to be sure?). Also, do I have to solder the speaker wire to the board? It's all kinda crazy -- are there better directions some where? I really wish I would have known this before buying the kit -- I am 100% fine with building the box, but I have never had good luck with soldering circuit boards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Exodus LCR Crossover

It would probably help if you could provide a copy of the diagrams for the XO and the circuit board. L15 and L16 are just inductor values (there should be a legend that tells you what value the L15 inductor is, as well as other L values).

Re: Exodus LCR Crossover

More than likely, the inductors are not close to the same values so it will be easy to tell the difference. The larger the value, the larger the inductor. And inductors do not have a polarity. It doesn't matter which direction they are mounted.

Based on the instructions, it should be pretty easy.
L14 = 0.25mH 20AWG Air Core Inductor - Tweeter circuit. This will be the smallest of the inductors with the smalled guage wire.
L15 = 0.47mH 18AWG Air Core Inductor - Mid circuit. This is the next smallest inductor. Wire guage is the same as L16.
L16 = 2.2mH 18AWG Air Core Inductor - Mid circuit. This is the next to largest inductor. Check L15 to make sure they have the same guage wire.
L4 = 4.0mH 15AWG Air Core Inductor - Woofer ciruit. Biggest inductor of the bunch.
