Multiuse Room - Home Theater

I have been reading these forums for a while but haven't contributed at all. I have really benefited from the thread about all the mistakes that others have made creating a home theater and incorporated that knowledge into the building of this theater. As well as all the other threads. I finished the basement from top to bottom, I had an electrician/inspector check and connect my wiring to the panel, professional tapers do the drywall taping, and had the carpet put in. Everything else I did myself.

A few specs on my theater:

Room is 14.5 x 26
Optima HD70
RichVision Remote Screen
Speakercraft Mt6 x2, AIMLCR, CRS8 x2
7.1 ready (Wired)

I am going to add a few prints to the Projector wall, since this is a multi-purpose room. Family room/Theater.

I can't post links in this forum since this is my first post, so please see my signature for the links. (There is always a way around, if you are determined!!

Re: Multiuse Room - Home Theater

Congratulations!

I love the color choices, cove ceiling, and hidden screen. It also looks like you did a good job placing your projector far enough and high enough up.

Nice job! Hope you enjoy it for years to come.

I would suggest raising the entertainment center up an inch or so. This would hide the wall plates. Or, paint the wall plates the same color as the wall.

I also noticed the center speaker is not on center. I am sure it will be mentioned so I thought I would be the first to ask. I would even consider painting the speaker grills the same wall color so they completely disappear. I also was curious if you were using a subwoofer and what AV receiver you had managing the system?

Just suggestions. Otherwise, a great effort. I know how hard it is to make a room that the other half will buy into so you get extra points for making it acceptable for everyone!

I would also second the suggestion for painting the speaker plates the same color as the wall.

Joseph, I too was wondering about the center speaker being off center.
