Subwoofer cable question

Hello everyone,
I have a HT setup where my receiver is in the rear right corner of my 11W x 22L room. I have bought deftech front speakers with built in subwoofers. So, I will need some really long subwoofer wire. Given this:
1) Can someone suggest where I may be able to buy 40 or 50 ft subwoofer cable? Will having it this long be bad for performance?
2) Is subwoofer cable basically the same as speaker cable (with different connectors)? Reason I ask is that I have a lot of leftover speaker cable (monster 14 gauge) which I could use. If so, where could I get connectors to attach at the end?
Thank you in advance!

Re: Subwoofer cable question

I'd suggest ordering a 50ft subwoofer cable from Blue Jeans Cable. You'll have no problems with a cable of this length. Subwoofer cables are RCA interconnects, so you won't be able to use speaker cabling.

You can try Monoprice.com. They have good cable and its inexpensive. The one drawback, they sell out quick.

A great way to do long sub cables on the cheap is an RG-59 antenna cable with F-to-RCA adapters on both ends.

Nope, totally different.
