Cabling - what should I run to my TV

I need help understanding how to wire my equipment.

Equipment:
Pioneer 5070 (50" Plasma)
Yamaha 5090
Time Warner Digital HD cable box with HDMI out
Toshiba VCR/DVD combo
Sony 5 disc CD player

Since my TV is 6 foot from my AV equipment and all the wire/s to the TV will be in the wall what type of wire/s should I run to the TV? I was planning on wiring the Cable box and VCR/DVD player to the receiver and letting the receiver do the switching. Can I get away with running just one HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV?

Or should I rune more. The wall is open so this is the only time to do it.

Thanks, Steve

Re: Cabling - what should I run to my TV

I would run conduit (the PVC stuff for electrical) so that any wire run isn't permanent. If you set it up so that it is easy to make changes then you can't go wrong. If you make it permanent then you will be messed up when something else comes along.

Murphy's law.

What about the TVs power cord?

I'm guessing that you want your plasma to look neat and tidy. If you had an electrical outlet right behind it and some conduit through the wall for signal wiring you should be good.
