Broken Optical Socket
So when I got my receiver about a year ago, like the first week I had it when I was switching all my cables over to accomodate the huge upgrade in receiver, I bought my very first digital audio cable.
Monster 1000 digital optical, I plugged it into the back of the receiver, and everything was peachy. A day or so later I wanted to switch it to the front to try something, so I went to go pull it out and it just wouldn't come out. I stupidly tried to wiggle it out and pull and it came right out, along with that shutter and part of the actual socket.
I was mortified, kicked myself for days, but the socket still works just fine. I've got a cable in there right now that works perfectly, it's just very loose and it will fall out if you knock it when you're moving wires around.
I'm wondering if there's any way to just replace that whole socket so that it stays in there tight?
Also, is there any trick to getting those cables out without damaging the socket? The other two optical inputs I've got I don't plan on changing out, but they're very tight as well and I don't know if I could get em out if I wanted to.
Just for reference I'm using a Pioneer 1015TX receiver and all the cables are Monster 1000 Optical Digial Audio cables.
Thanks for the info!
