I have been searching the web to get information on HDMI cables. Specifically, is there a difference in quality from a $5 cable to a $200 calble. All I need is a cable 1 meter in length. All comments are welcome.

There can be a difference. Look for a low gauge number for the wire used inside. Personally, I use BlueJeansCables for all my interconnects. Their prices are hard to beat. The 7ft HDMI cable I just got from them was under 30 bucks shipped. Very well constructed cable, using 24 gauge wires.

The downside to the lower gauge cables is that the entire cable may be less flexible than a cable that uses smaller wires.

I got two 15ft cables for $40 shipped so definately search the internet for best prices.
