Ugh - RS-232 (DB9) - what cable to connect receiver to computer?

Would this work:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812123083

My Harman Kardon has a firmware update, and I need to connect it to my computer.

However, finding the proper cable is easier said than done. The USB to serial cables do not work.

The input on the receiver is female, and on the back of my computer, male, so I guess this should work.

HOWEVER, I saw some references to using a DB25 to DB9 cable.

What do I need to buy!?

Thanks!

Not having access to your owners manual it's hard to say. When I flash my Sony pre-pro I have to use a null modem cable

I know I do NOT (says I cannot) need a null modem cable.

Sony has a male jack, everything else in the industry uses famale it looks like.
