Comments about acoustics
Hello to all you fine folks:
Well here goes; I�m getting ready to start my HT. The room is 15 � X 22 X 8 �. What I plan on doing is sheet rocking above the ceiling joists (2X4s) and putting in 4 or 6 small pillars (4X6s) along the side walls to help break up standing waves. I also plan on carpeting the screen wall and the floor and hanging 4 to 6 small heavy area rugs on the side walls to reduce echo. I will leave the back of the room fairly hard so as to blur the surround channels. The theater will be set up for 7.1 surround. I would like to hear comments about this as I have read various sources but have yet to actually experiment. Like just about everyone, I have a limited budget and don�t want to blow it all on mistakes.
