combining component inputs cheaply - need help

Hi everyone,

I'm in the beginning stages of building a home theater system for my house. Right now all I own is the HDTV, DVD, Xbox, Cable Box, and VCR. So as you might guess that's 3 devices with component outputs and only 2 component inputs on my TV.

What's a good cheap way to combine these 3 devices into 2 inputs (possibly leaving me the option of expanding to four in the future)? I realize I could probably do this by buying a fancy home theater receiver now, but I really don't have the money. I just want an easy way so I don't have to get behind the TV every time I want to watch a DVD.

Any suggestions?

thanks
Pete

You need a 4:1 component video switch. Some good ones are made by Audio Authority. Radio Shack sells some inexpensive ones that are still remote controlled.

A company called "MadCatz" sells what they claim is a HD compatible mechanical switch for about $40.

Lots of choices.
