Connecting equipment together.....
Basically, I know that I'm not getting the best out of my projector but I'm a bit stumped as to how to connect it best....
I have:
An NEC Multisync MT1030+ projector which has a s-video input, composite input & two rgb 15 pin sockets.
My DVD Recorded (Pioneer DVR 420H) has an s-video out, composite out, RGB (scart) out and co-axial/RF.
I also have a Compacks DVD5000 which has s-video, composite and three phono plugs marked Y/PB/PR (component?)
and my Playstation 2 has composite out.
My TV is a Beko which has two scart sockets (one wired for RGB)
I've connected my equipment via scart to a fully wired 'manual' AV switcher box and each piece of kit is set to output RGB which gives me a better picture on my TV but my projector has no scart socket to accept RGB so I'm forced to use the composite out on the switcher box to connect my projector.
Composite - as I've read on here - is not much better than connecting using co-axial so I'm obviously losing some quality.
Looking at my setup I'd say that s-video would be the way to go but how do I connect everything together in order to take advantage of the s-video connections whilst keeping my RGB connection to the TV as I don't want to sacrifice any quality anywhere?
If I simply connect a through 'scart to s-video' connector to my existing setup I get an image on the projector but the colours are all distorted. I have to set everything to 's-video' which gives me a clear projected image at the expense of losing the RGB signal for my TV.
Is there something I can get that converts an RGB input to a proper S-Video out?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
