I live in the US.

I've got a multi-standard TV and its got a standard US power plug.

The PAL DVD player does not...

I've looked online and there appear to be dozens of different power adaptors and what-not...

What do I need to plug the PAL player into the US socket?

I believe you need to get a voltage converter since the player you have is not configured for our 120 volt system. I know I've gotten power adapters at Radio Shack for running US electronics in Europe. You likely need something like: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...%5Fid=273-1414

I would think you don't need anything as hefty as above since the DVD player likely does not consumer 250 watts. Look at the power consumption in the manual and get something that will step-up plus handle that consumption.

Check carefully since many have a 120/240 switch for voltage. A tape deck I bought over in the UK had that which worked out great.

I just cut off the old UK style plug and wired in a US style plug instead of some big adapter
