Home Theatre Speaker Drivers 4 DYI

Basically I want to know what brand speaker drivers (for home theatre) are total crap, decent (mid-range) and top of the line and how much they are going to set me back? I've got some really nice enclosures and would just like a general idea about drivers. Thanks for any help!

No driver will perfrom well if just dropped into a box. The drivers, box and crossover components must be optimized to work as a harmonious unit.

The highest regarded drivers are european- Seas, Scanspeak, Focal, to name a few.

Brian's right.. it's difficult to "retrofit" a driver to a box. It's much easier to build a box around the driver.

However, there might be some drivers that would work well depending on your box size. What size box do you have?
