Looking to build a sub for a friend

I have a friend who wants a sub that crushes his chest with boomyness durring movies. He has a large room (L shaped about 4300 cubic feet) with an open staircase. Budget is 1k. IB is an option but I dont know if thats the type of bass he is looking for. I think something more like a bass horn or a sealed box with PRs. If anyone has some suggestions please let me know. I know its not the standard request for an HT sub but its what he likes so I might as well make him happy.

Oh I bet he'd be pleased with an IB using 4 high excursion 15"s, or couple high excursion 18"s.

If he wants or needs a little more 'boom' that can be easily added with some EQ

If you can swing the size, I'd do one of the new Avalanche 18's with a nice big amp. It can move 6.5L of air (!). You'll hardly need any eq with a decent sealed enclosure...you may have to eq down even.
