Universal Remote Question


Hi Folks,

Searched quite a bit but did not get the right answer. Need a universal remote for my HT.
My requirements are

It should be with a good size LCD (preferably 65K Colors).
RF enabled, since my equipments will be in a hidden closet.
lot of programmable macro codes
prefereabbly extendable to access internet
well, I can go upto about 650 USD (am I asking too much for $ ?)

Check out www.remotecentral.com they have all the info on all the latest.

I think the new-ish Pronto Pro NG (TSU7000) is the best remote out there under $1000. I think you could also find the Original Pronto Pro (TSU 6000) for under $600. Both have the color screen you are looking for. You would need to get the RF extender in order to control hidden equipment via RF. I don't know of any touchscreen remotes that offer IR and RF...to expensive with FCC licensing. As for the internet....no way. The only other option you have would be a handheld PC like an Ipaq running netremote or totalremote software. Even then, you'd still need some IR-RF converter.
